So I feel like I haven’t been here in forever. I have an infection in one of my incisions from my laparoscopic surgery. It finally feels like it is getting better and healing but, between being worn out from fighting infection and working I have been pretty useless for anything else.
On to the real reason for this entry, the dreaded subject of weight loss! My husband and I want to lose some weight. We have become comfortable over the years and have let our weight creep up on us. While we each love the way the other looks, it’s time to get serious about what it means for our health to be overweight.
I am sure that being overweight is not helping me get pregnant. So it absolutely can’t hurt to lose a few pounds.
As of today I am:
My goal is to lose 36.2lbs total by December 2017
This will be tricky since I hope to get pregnant in late March.
For now I plan on using my treadmill for 30-45 minutes every day that I don’t have work. I work three 12 hour shifts a week in a hospital so I am usually very active during my shifts. I am going to cut my candy intake (what can I say, I love chocolate) significantly, to one piece of chocolate a day. I know if I try to go 100% no chocolate then I won’t be able to do it and I’ll eat all the chocolate I can.
I don’t drink soda or energy drinks so that’s something I don’t have to cut back on. I do drink sweet tea 1-2 times a week and I drink coffee with flavored cream every morning that is 73 calories per cup so I may change that. I think with more activity and less candy I should be doing pretty good, at least to start with.
Side note, the weather has been AMAZING so my husband and I had a cookout:
(yeah… I know, I know this is NOT good for weight loss, but it sure was yummy!)
I also made some delicious juice out of some fruits and veggies:
I will keep you all updated on my weight loss.
